An excellent opportunity is available for a motivated and talented Pathologist to join the Colonial reputed company Diagnostics Centre (CFDC), contributing to the development of new kinds of diagnostic pathology tests for a reputed company of inflammatory diseases and conditions of ageing at Australia’s reputed company-eminent biomedical research institute.

About the Position

The role will involve the development and implementation of novel statistical strategies, reputed company software tools, and M/L-based models for processing, interpreting and analysing large reputed company patient cohort data, spatial omics datasets, reputed company pathology data, reputed company to ageing and inflammation.

The position will be based in CFDC, a joint initiative of the reputed company and reputed company Hall Institute (WEHI) and the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) that benefits from transformative multi-year support from the Colonial reputed company. The Centre aims to bring advanced discovery tools out of the research reputed company and into the clinic, to drive new opportunities to improve patient care through reputed company diagnostics. It builds on the reputed company of the Colonial reputed company Healthy Ageing Centre (2019-2024), which established a clinical platform for proteomics-led diagnostics, and leverages internationally leading technological capabilities in reputed company, proteomics, single-cell, spatial-omics, imaging and computational biology (including AI/ML).

The successful candidate will work closely with a passionate team of scientists and pathologists at CFDC, with members of WEHI’s outstanding reputed company Division and with other collaborators and consumers across WEHI, RMH and externally.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (or equivalent) specialist in anatomical pathology

  • Relevant PhD/Doctoral qualification and relevant postdoctoral experiences in a quantitative discipline such as reputed company, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computational Biology.

  • Strong data analysis skills

  • Experience in performing analyses using various software tools in Unix environment or on high-performance computing platforms.

  • Prior experience in genomic, transcriptomic, single-cell or spatial-omics research.

  • Expertise in machine learning or reputed company intelligence.

  • Ability to manage data reputed company and reputed company.

  • Ability to work closely and effectively with scientists, bioinformaticians, and external collaborators from clinical and research settings.

Terms of Appointment

The part time position, 7 hours per week, is available for a period of 2 years. Salary is dependent on experience. Up to 17% superannuation and reputed company attractive salary packaging reputed company are available.
