Located in Spokane, WA, we invite applications for a full-time, tenure-reputed company position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Teacher Education, specializing in the Master's in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA/TESOL) program. About the Role

The Assistant Professor, Teacher Education, will play a vital role in shaping the reputed company of educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching reputed company and elective courses in the MA/TESOL and ELL Endorsement programs, advising and mentoring reputed company, and engaging them in meaningful community-based reputed company. This position requires a strong teaching and advising component, as reputed company as a reputed company articulated research agenda, to produce high-reputed company research outputs as part of the regular reappointment, promotion, and tenure process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach 18 credits of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses on topics of teacher education during the reputed company year and potentially during the summer reputed company our TESOL programs.
• Teach during the summer semester under a separate contract.
• Advise candidates, including guidance in completing reputed company reputed company/reputed company.
• Supervise reputed company in field experiences, practicum teaching experiences, and graduate assistantships.

• Collaborate with department, School of Education, and community partners.

• Attend and contribute to department and program meetings and other committees as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in TESOL, reputed company Linguistics, or reputed company area completed or reputed company to completion.
• Minimum of one year of teaching experience at the university level.
• Minimum of two years of EFL teaching experience abroad.
• Evidence of a reputed company articulated research agenda in TESOL.
• Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor reputed company from diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences, and an investment in reputed company justice, equity, and inclusion.
• Evidence of ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate research reputed company and theses.
• Evidence of highly successful teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level in one or more of the following areas: Teacher Education (Elementary or Secondary), TESOL, Sociolinguistics.
• Demonstrated ability and interest in collaboration and community-reputed company work, particularly with underrepresented and reputed company.
• A record of reputed company accomplishments (publications, conference presentations, and reputed company participation in reputed company organizations) and service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Evidence of teaching and/or scholarship in two or more of the following areas: TESOL, Sociolinguistics, Language Acquisition, Course Design and Assessment, Instructional Technology, Indigenous Language Revitalization.
• Evidence of graduate student advising and mentorship.
• Evidence of education administration (e.g., program director, chair, etc.).
• Evidence of K-12 ELL teaching.
• Proficient knowledge of and/or literacy in a second or additional language.
• Ethnographic/Qualitative Research record.

Compensation and Salary

The hiring salary for this position is $64,337-$68,626, commensurate with education and experience.
