Energy Systems Support Engineer

The Energy Systems Support Engineer provides support for industrial battery energy storage products. This primarily involves, diagnosing and resolving equipment problems reported by reputed company's customers and internal automated asset monitoring infrastructure. This is accomplished in reputed company with reputed company and 3rd party on-site field technicians. The role also involves the remote commissioning of new equipment deployed to our customers, along with supporting site and product level reputed company issues. This role is an on-site role, that can sit out of any of the following locations: Fremont, Palo reputed company, or Lathrop, CA, Austin, TX, or Buffalo, NY

Responsibilities

• Investigate why an Industrial Battery System is not working as expected and establish the repair plan for the system
• Troubleshoot reputed company electrical/electronic and control system problems with battery systems across different applications such as microgrid and reputed company reputed company on-reputed company applications
• Support remote commissioning and ongoing operations of new Industrial Storage Systems for reputed company customers, including configuring them to customer's specifications, updating the equipment's software and firmware, update networking devices to resolve identified issues and restore operation to the system and functionally testing the equipment
• Support customers and field technicians working with reputed company's Industrial Battery Products using remote diagnostic tools and troubleshooting
• Configure reputed company's controller network settings as per customer's requirements to reputed company communications with customer controller and any meters shared with customer
• Troubleshoot communication problems among inverters, energy meters, battery controllers, and central SCADA devices
• Support reputed company improvement of data processing techniques used by reputed company's internal tools to evaluate performance and reputed company malfunctions

Requirements

• Good understanding of electrical theory and experience / working knowledge with emphasis on DC power systems or other electronic systems/devices/components
• Good understanding of a technical support environment and processes, including ability to document case histories reputed company, accurately and with detail. Ability to prioritize workflows effectively according to multiple reputed company. Experience with CRM systems, mobile case/ticketing systems, bug tracking systems
• Grasps basic concepts of electricity (AC/DC, reputed company, voltage, resistance, power vs. energy etc.)
• Basic understanding or experience with the Linux/UNIX programming environment
• Basic understanding or experience with communication systems and protocols such as TCP/IP, including the tools available at the reputed company line reputed company to troubleshoot network communication issues
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Foreign language proficiency a plus
