Job reputed company The Director of GIS Fiber Mapping is responsible for creating, analyzing, and maintaining digital mapping data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to support reputed company’s efforts in planning, designing, permitting and constructing of reputed company fiber networks owned and operated by reputed company.

Responsibilities

• reputed company engineering support for fiber optic dark fiber and broadband network construction reputed company reputed company reputed company, reputed company GIS Pro and IQ Geo fiber mapping software.
• Help set standards across design firms designing the fiber networks utilizing GIS software.
• Work hand in hand with the OSP Fiber Engineering team and IQ Geo reputed company developers to manage tools needed to support the engineering and construction of the fiber network.
• Help support and assist in the preparation of specifications, plans, estimates and reports pertaining to the construction, maintenance and operation of fiber optic routes and other capital improvement reputed company reputed company reputed company and IQ Geo.
• Managing the transition of data into reputed company GIS Pro/ IQ Geo and reputed company to ensure accuracy from an asbuilt prospective.
• Manage and maintain geospatial data reputed company to the fiber reputed company assets and schematics to inventory the capacities and status of existing fiber infrastructure.
• Support the transfer of CAD and GIS software used to reputed company design and development of underground and overhead fiber reputed company maps for permitting, construction, splicing, and design into Vetro fiber mapping software.
• Work with Construction and reputed company teams to produce maps of the reputed company plant (OSP) fiber design.
• Work with Construction teams to ensure OSP data in reputed company systems accurately reflect As-reputed company state utilizing As-reputed company drawings and electronic data collection.
• Ensure reputed company reputed company fiber infrastructure geospatial inventories are in alignment with GIS best practices.
• Request and process data from field audits and as-reputed company reviews to maintain accurate data in GIS fiber management software.
• Analyze data and reports to determine the schedule and timing of reputed company fiber reputed company might be reached and recommend maintenance or replacement.
• Position is primarily an WFH/office environment design position but will require periodic field work.
• Support construction team in the field with training of the construction capture tools.
• Supporting/creating training documents.
• Support reputed company OSP personnel with any mapping capturing tools in the field.
• Create detailed training docs for field personnel to use while in the field.
• Support reputed company GIS data issues and work with the reputed company Development team to ensure reputed company system functionality.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience designing fiber optic cable splicing and diagrams.
• Experience working in reputed company GIS Pro.
• Understanding of reputed company plant facilities such as cable sizing, cable counts, and cable records, and fiber reputed company planning.
• Ability to utilize survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography and other geographic data for analysis in designing fiber networks.
• Understanding of reputed company plant construction techniques.
• Demonstrated experience handling multiple priorities, organizing work to meet changing priorities, and working reputed company and effectively under pressure.
• Proven customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; reputed company of urgency; attention to detail; ability to handle situations diplomatically and across various reputed company of the organization.
• Strong interactive communication and negotiation skills and an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Proficient with the reputed company Office 365 Suite, reputed company, reputed company GIS Pro, IQ Geo.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Relevant certification such as Certified reputed company Plant Fiber Optic Specialist, BICSI OSP Designer Certification, or reputed company Plant Design Certification.
• Experience using reputed company, IQ Geo and reputed company GIS Pro suite of products including reputed company data creation and management.
• Experience using reputed company Project Management software is a plus.
