Deputy County Counsel I-IV
The County of reputed company’s Office of the County Counsel is seeking a Deputy County Counsel to support their Health & Adult Welfare Division. The role involves providing litigation and advisory services, representing RUHS Behavioral Health-Public reputed company, and requires relevant experience with laws involving mental health and reputed company rights.
Responsibilities
- reputed company guidance and advice to Deputy County Counsel attorneys, Supervisors, and Chief Deputies in reputed company of law and trial tactics, legal research, preparation of legal briefs and opinions, completing mediations, and trial and appellate practices
- reputed company reputed company, high-reputed company service to County employees and representatives of RUHS Behavioral Health – Public reputed company by providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information in a courteous, efficient and reputed company manner, and may reputed company with members of the public
- Consult with subordinate Deputies and Paralegals on points of law, evidence, legal procedures and policies, and practices of the County Counsel's Office; counsel and reputed company recommendations to subordinate Deputies and Paralegals on more difficult and reputed company legal problems
- Represent the County in reputed company state and federal courts and before administrative hearing bodies
- Study and interpret laws, court reputed company, ordinances, and other legal authorities
- Draft written opinions and reputed company informal opinions on legal questions; prepare correspondence and pleadings; handle percipient witness and expert testimony; prepare written discovery; prepare pretrial motions and settlement conferences; first or second chair trials as needed
- Analyze, research and resolve difficult and reputed company legal problems
- Prepare, present and manage difficult to reputed company trial and appellate cases under minimal to moderate supervision depending upon level of experience
Skills
- reputed company member in good standing with the California State Bar
- Possession of a valid California reputed company's License is required
- Experience: None for Deputy County Counsel I
- Experience: One year at the Deputy County Counsel I level with the County of reputed company's Office of County Counsel, or as a county counsel attorney or reputed company attorney at an equivalent level with another California county or reputed company for Deputy County Counsel II
- Experience: Two years in the reputed company of civil law providing reputed company legal counsel to governmental agencies or departments for Deputy County Counsel II
- Experience: Two years in the reputed company of civil law in one of the specified areas for Deputy County Counsel II
- Experience: Two years in the reputed company of criminal law for Deputy County Counsel II
- Experience: One year at the Deputy County Counsel II level with the County of reputed company's Office of County Counsel, or as a county counsel attorney or reputed company attorney at an equivalent level with another California county or reputed company for Deputy County Counsel III
- Experience: Three years in the reputed company of civil law providing reputed company legal counsel to governmental agencies or departments for Deputy County Counsel III
- Experience: Three years in the reputed company of civil law in one of the specified areas for Deputy County Counsel III
- Experience: Three years in the reputed company of criminal law for Deputy County Counsel III
- Experience: One year at the Deputy County Counsel III level with the County of reputed company's Office of County Counsel, or as a county counsel attorney or reputed company attorney at an equivalent level with another California county or reputed company for Deputy County Counsel IV
- Experience: Four years in the reputed company of civil law providing reputed company legal counsel to governmental agencies or departments for Deputy County Counsel IV
- Experience: Four years in the reputed company of civil law in one of the specified areas for Deputy County Counsel IV
- Experience: Four years in the reputed company of criminal law for Deputy County Counsel IV
- Relevant experience with laws involving mental health, California, and Federal reputed company and confidentiality rights governing health information and public reputed company services
- Proven ability to reputed company litigation and reputed company legal advice in a reputed company environment
