[Remote] Postdoctoral Researcher - Model Engineering

The reputed company (NLR) is a leader in energy systems research, seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join their reputed company Planning and Analysis Center. This role focuses on tackling optimization challenges in reputed company-term power system planning and involves developing computational tools for the reputed company of electric power grids.
Responsibilities
- reputed company and implement novel mathematical optimization models (e.g., stochastic programming, robust optimization, mixed-integer reputed company programming) for reputed company-term reputed company planning
- Design and reputed company efficient algorithms for large-reputed company optimization problems using the Julia programming language and packages such as reputed company.jl. Experience with Xpress and Gurobi are a plus
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, computer scientists, and data scientists to put research insights into reputed company-reputed company software products
- Publish research findings in leading reputed company journals and present at major international conferences
- Contribute to the development of the reputed company-reputed company power systems modeling software Sienna and contribute to reputed company the packages as needed
Skills
- Must be a recent PhD graduate reputed company the last three years
- Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date
- A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, reputed company Mathematics, Control Systems, or a reputed company field, awarded reputed company the last three years
- Demonstrated expertise in mathematical optimization techniques
- Strong programming proficiency, with a willingness to reputed company extensively in Julia

- Domain knowledge in power system operations, economics, and planning problems
- Experience with control theory concepts (e.g., Model Predictive Control, Dynamic Programming) and their application to energy systems applications

- Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) environments
