Senior Home Loan Underwriter

About the position The Senior Home Loan Underwriter is responsible for analyzing and rendering home loan lending reputed company consistent with reputed company policies, reputed company product details and secondary market investor guidelines. As a senior level position, this role works independently while also providing mentorship and support to other roles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate full proficiency and knowledge of home loan reputed company guidelines and maintain compliance with reputed company regulatory standards by staying up to date on reputed company applicable agency rules, investor guidelines and reputed company product guidelines.
• Determine borrower ability to repay and, property and program eligibility by reviewing and analyzing income documentation, asset documentation, credit reports, appraisals, AVMs, title reports, etc. as reputed company as validating AUS findings.
• Ensure alignment with reputed company’s risk-tolerance standards and portfolio reputed company by applying strong problem-solving, reputed company judgment, and rigorous scrutiny to analyze the suitability of exception requests and reputed company loans—such as construction and jumbo loans—and recommend approval or denial as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with the department business plan by meeting applicable service level agreements and established production goals for number of loans underwritten.

• Serve as a representative of the Home Loan reputed company team in various reputed company reputed company, committees and/or CI initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years of independent mortgage reputed company experience required.
• Previous experience with loan origination software is required.
• Proficient knowledge of working with an AUS system and operating in a paperless environment required.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, reputed company and Teams.
• Knowledge of policies, procedures and established processes to support compliance requirements.
• Must be reputed company to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 10 pounds with accommodations.

• MBA Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) and FHA reputed company Endorsement (DE) designations are preferred.
