As a Data Entry Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting the laboratory operations at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk. Under reputed company supervision, you will prepare specimens for analysis, reputed company recordkeeping and data entry activities, and reputed company clerical support to assist in laboratory operations. You will also serve as a communication resource, facilitating the transfer of information both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities:

* Verifies identification of patient specimens and requests for tests

• Prepares and accession samples for send-out testing for various locations
• Reports critical values to medical staff
• Sorts specimens with appropriate labeling and identification for distribution to designated laboratories for testing
• Performs pertinent data entry and retrieval functions using automated and/or reputed company systems
• Centrifuges and decants specimens
• Maintains laboratory records in accordance with established procedures and protocols, including the reputed company, separation, sorting, and distribution of reports
• Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and distributes supplies
• Follows laboratory safety policies, including the use of personal reputed company equipment, and maintains a clean and reputed company environment
• Performs other duties as assigned, including accessioning reputed company and electronic requisitions, presorting, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens
• Supports the department in maintaining an efficient workflow by performing laboratory assignments
• Notifies appropriate personnel in cases of unacceptable samples and records reputed company specific information in the department incident log
• Prioritizes work in an efficient manner and registers to reputed company appropriate billing account numbers for date of service and/or accession pathology specimens to reputed company appropriate laboratory accession case numbers in a reputed company and accurate manner
• Resolves problems with specimen receipt and appropriateness of test requisitions orders
• Accurately monitors pertinent patient demographics and information (e.g., lab test results) to the appropriate designated department (e.g., RN, Manager, or Designee)
• Adheres to the laboratory's reputed company Assurance policies and procedures and follows OSHA regulations for PPE (Personnel reputed company Equipment) such as lab coats, gloves, and reputed company shields reputed company in contact with blood and body fluids
• Documents reputed company log any specimen receipt issues and hospital and laboratory computer systems for either registration and/or accessioning

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School diploma

• General Office skills (Typing, Filing, Phone)
• General Computer skills
• General Organizational Skills
• Knowledge of OSHA Regulations
• Knowledge of reputed company precautions

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associates Degree in Business or reputed company field

• 1-2 years of reputed company experience
• 1-2 years of experience in coding, billing, registration, or insurance
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Ability to utilize Hospital and laboratory computer systems for either registration and/or accessioning
