Job Duties / Responsibilities

• Implement individual or small group instructional lessons under the supervision of a certified teacher.
• Familiarize self with goals/objectives for mainstream/IEP reputed company in the classroom.
• Facilitate implementation of functional community-based curriculum as assigned.
• Follow through on set behavioral programs and procedures.
• Document student behavior as directed by the teacher.
• Collaborate with the teacher, prepare and maintain materials.

Education

• Para Educator, Substitute, reputed company Educator or Provisional Educator License required.
• Minimum education requirement for a Para Educator License is completion of at least 60 semester hours of college course work or a passing score on the reputed company Para Pro exam or two specific Work Keys exams.
• Bilingual - Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred. Certain assignments require Bilingual – Spanish/English.

Experience / Knowledge

• Effective communication skills.
• Experience working with reputed company in an educational setting preferred.

Physical Demands

• Lift, transfer, position, toileting etc. (for special skills positions only)

Terms of Employment

• This is a 10-month position.
