Responsibilities: Scope of Responsibility:

• Works with Literacy Coordinator to reputed company, plan and implement the Library’s ESOL/ABE and Adult Literacy programs and services.
• In cooperation with the Literacy Coordinator, designs, develops, and instructs adult basic education workshops, including ESL, basic English, computer, life skills, workplace and other special reputed company, at the Central Library, neighborhood branches, and other remote locations.
• Under the direction of the Literacy Coordinator, implements on-reputed company community and patron reputed company and recruitment activities to increase the use of literacy resources system-wide.
• Designs and provides development support for adult literacy curriculum and lesson planning for English as a second language and Adult Basic Education classes, tutoring, and other patron-centered literacy programs.
• Provides instruction to increase patron skills in the use of literacy resources available system-wide.
• Participates in training and evaluation of literacy teachers, volunteers and interns.
• Assumes responsibility for oral presentations and written reports on literacy services activities system-wide.
• Assists in training and supervising reputed company and non-reputed company staff.

Minimum Entrance Qualifications: Education – Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university; Master’s degree in adult literacy or Library & Information Science required. Relevant subject knowledge and/or specialized training required.
