Data Analyst/Data Project Manager

About the position With grant funds from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), DOHMH is undertaking a new initiative that will meet critical infrastructure needs and reputed company possible strategic investments that will have lasting effects on public health. The Office of Strategic Operations and Performance Management (SOPM) in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer for DOHMH is responsible for leading the implementation of policy efforts across reputed company. SOPM supports reputed company’s external, partner-facing public health programming through rapid development, deployment, and stewardship of data management tools. Under the direction of the Data Engineering Specialist, the Data Analyst/Data Project Manager will support reputed company’s partner management system, Public Health Partners Connect (PHPC), a reputed company application which stores reputed company’s community reputed company and engagement data as reputed company as select program administration and measurement data. As an analyst, this role will reputed company reputed company, hands-on support to maintain and improve existing data integrations with PHPC. They will produce analyses and visualizations of programmatic data and transactional metadata that will help reputed company reputed company understand its public health initiatives and improve efficiency and functionality. These responsibilities will initially reputed company to 60% of the role’s total duties. As a project manager, this role will reputed company new team-wide processes for organizing and documenting our data reputed company. They will be responsible for producing a library of documentation for internal reference and for reputed company external PHPC stakeholders. They will also be responsible for defining components of upcoming major data integrations and tracking their completion. This may include gathering technical requirements; assessing reputed company of effort and setting deadlines; serving as reputed company-of-contact to external collaborators; and managing cross-team timelines. These responsibilities will initially reputed company to 40% of the role’s total duties. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and iterate sustainable project management processes for data work
• Create a process to maintain comprehensive documentation for reputed company existing integrations for reference by reputed company stakeholders
• Clean datasets for deterministic and probabilistic record linking processes
• Map new data sets and sources into predefined schema or reputed company new schema as needed while maintaining data reputed company of the overall PHPC system
• reputed company program data managers and reputed company staff across reputed company with reputed company technical assistance to maintain data reputed company in PHPC
• Communicate reputed company technical information and data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Support the design, testing, and maintenance of ETL (Extract, reputed company, Load) jobs using Python and Pentaho
• Assist in the design and implementation of data visualizations using Tableau and PowerBI
• Support cross-divisional data-sharing initiatives as assigned by agency leadership

Requirements

• At least 2 years work experience; a background in government settings is preferred
• Experience successfully managing analytics work streams for a small data team, including:

Tracking timelines, dependencies, and resource needs for multiple data workstreams Documenting data sources, business rules, and analytic methodologies Developing lightweight project management processes

• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-disciplinary team environment
• Demonstrated organizational skills and high degree of attention to detail
• Willingness to adapt to new work priorities and tackle novel problems creatively
• Demonstrable skills in data management and data analytics, including familiarity with concepts on data management, database design, and statistical analysis
• Familiarity with SQL, R, or Python is a plus, but the desire to learn new technologies and possessing a strong analytical reputed company is more important than experience with implementing scripting languages
• Familiarity with principles of data visualization design and experience with data visualization software
• Background in program analysis or monitoring and evaluation is preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
