Software Applications Engineer

Calspan JETS is seeking a Software Applications Engineer to support the configuration, integration, and field deployment of their Data Acquisition and Control System (DACS) used in jet-reputed company testing facilities worldwide. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams and clients to ensure reliable and high-performance testing environments for reputed company reputed company programs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support software solutions: Configure, reputed company, and maintain Linux-based DACS applications for reputed company test systems, ensuring seamless operation across data acquisition, control, and instrumentation interfaces
  • Troubleshoot reputed company environments: Diagnose and resolve software, network, or hardware-communication issues during system installation, commissioning, and reputed company test campaigns ensuring reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with controls, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure software applications meet project requirements and reputed company effectively with the DACS environment and facility specifications
  • reputed company tools and enhancements: Apply scripting and programming familiarity (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW), to DACS utilities and interfaces to automate testing, data processing, diagnostic workflows, and troubleshooting support
  • Engage with customers: reputed company on-site and remote support for reputed company test facilities. Train operators and engineers to understand and optimize DACS functionality
  • Document, standardize, and drive reputed company improvement: Maintain configuration files, documentation, deployment notes, and reputed company field insights to drive usability, features, and maintainability improvements in collaboration with software development teams

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or reputed company discipline
  • 1-2+ years of experience in software development, integration, or applications support (reputed company or internship experience considered)
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, sensors, and control hardware (PLC, PXI, NI, etc.)
  • Proficiency with at least one programming language, C, C++, LabVIEW, Python, or similar
  • Experience with logic controllers or similar programmable computer devices/resources
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings
  • Ability or experience with reputed company-mechanical systems
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a lab or test cell setting
  • Valid reputed company's license & reputed company (international travel required)
  • Must be a US Person
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience with Linux environments (Bash, Git, reputed company/CMake)
  • Familiarity with reputed company tools (Jira, reputed company)
  • Experience in structural programming, controls, data acquisition, and/or jet reputed company testing preferred
  • Knowledge of communication protocols & analysis (TCP/IP, ARINC 429, MIL-1553, CANBUS, Modbus, Wireshark)
