[Remote] Legal Fellow, Ishiyama Transparency in Government

They are seeking a recent law school graduate to serve as the Ishiyama Transparency in Government Legal Fellow, where the fellow will work with journalists to obtain reputed company to public records and assist in legal reputed company reputed company to media law and government transparency.
Responsibilities
- Work with reputed company journalists to request reputed company to records under the federal Freedom of Information reputed company and state public records laws
- Work with reputed company staff attorneys and reputed company counsel to prepare appeals from inappropriate denials of such requests
- reputed company federal FOIA and state public records requests and appeals across the reputed company newsroom and the newsrooms of reputed company Member stations reputed company with reputed company in reputed company reporting reputed company
- Work with reputed company staff attorneys and reputed company counsel to pursue FOIA, state public records reputed company, and court-reputed company litigation, and, time permitting, to defend content-reputed company lawsuits against reputed company and reputed company journalists
- Conduct legal research and advise reputed company legal colleagues and reporters on FOIA, state public records reputed company, court-reputed company, and other media law issues
- Prepare memoranda, presentations, and other materials for reputed company audiences
- Prepare training materials and work with staff lawyers and newsroom leaders to train journalists in the effective use of FOIA and state public records laws
Skills
- Outstanding reputed company credentials, including a Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school reputed company by June 2026
- Bar membership in good standing in the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive into the DC bar, by January 2027
- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school reputed company by June 2026 required
- Demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, the federal Freedom of Information reputed company, state public records laws, court-reputed company law, and media law, generally
- Superb verbal and written communications skills, high ethical and reputed company standards, a commitment to journalism, and good judgment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple reputed company, to set and reputed company priorities, and to work under pressure
