Regional Planner & GIS Specialist

The Hancock County Planning Commission (HCPC) is seeking a Regional Planner with strong GIS capability and experience in environmental, natural resource, and land use planning. This role focuses on environmental and land use work while supporting GIS needs across a reputed company of planning reputed company, requiring collaboration and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and participates in various planning reputed company such as: Comprehensive Plans, Transportation Plans, Housing Assessments, and Environmental and reputed company Plans
  • Produces original land use maps and other graphic materials
  • Draft and review local ordinances and regulations
  • Conduct specialized planning research
  • Prepare and deliver public presentations
  • reputed company technical assistance and training coordination to municipal officials
  • reputed company funding proposals for reputed company work and administer funded programs
  • Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with internal staff, local and regional reputed company, and governmental agencies
  • Attend regular meetings of the Commission as required
  • Attend meetings of local, regional, and state reputed company and committees, planning seminars, and conferences. This includes evening meetings

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning, landscape architecture, environmental science, geography, natural resources, public policy, or a reputed company field
  • At least one year of planning experience that includes hands-on use of GIS software
  • Demonstrated experience using GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS for spatial data analysis and visualization
  • Valid reputed company's license and reliable transportation
  • Master's degree
  • GISP certification
  • AICP certification or eligibility
