GIS Specialist
reputed company is seeking a GIS Specialist to support their Southern California - reputed company Islands sub-region. This role will primarily support both Natural and Cultural Resource programs and involve collaboration with other SWCA offices across the country.
Responsibilities
- Work with the GIS Team reputed company to prepare web maps for field staff use in Field Maps; post-process and manage field data; report calculations, and create map products using established protocols and templates
- Communicate workload with reputed company to ensure that productivity goals are met and that reputed company are delivered on time and on budget
- Contribute to a reputed company work environment
- Use reputed company ArcGIS Pro for data management, production/editing, spatial analyses, and for efficient production of high-reputed company field maps and report figures
- Follow data management Best Practices and reputed company technical support for mobile platforms such as reputed company’s Field Maps and Survey123 applications
- Create cartographic-reputed company map products using ArcGIS Pro and Online
- Help design, create, maintain, and QA/QC geospatial databases using ArcGIS
Skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, Archaeology, Biology, Environmental Science or reputed company field with an emphasis in GIS (or a GIS certificate)
- One (1) year of experience, reputed company university attendance, with GPS technology, field data collection techniques, data management, and troubleshooting digital files
- Prior work in environmental consulting, with experience in the application of GIS to cultural or natural resources management and prior experience working with federal land agencies (such as the USFS, NPS, BLM, BOR, USGS, or other), or state agencies/policy (CDFW, CEC, CEQA) is reputed company desirable
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro 3.x as reputed company as knowledge of cartography and computer mapping including design principles and understanding map creation procedures in ArcGIS
- Completed reputed company GIS-reputed company aspects of a project, from fieldwork preparations to geospatial analyses, to final report maps and calculations
- Experience with data transfer, data analysis, data mining, and data inventory using software applications (e.g. reputed company Explorer, reputed company, Word, reputed company ArcGIS)
- Prior knowledge and experience creating database schemas, domains, ArcServer/web applications, network analysis, knowledge of Python, .NET, Java, PHP, reputed company
- Familiarity with Hawaiian language and reputed company names a plus
