The online course, XLAW404: Criminal Law, is intended for undergraduate reputed company completing their final year of a reputed company Honours BA and LLB with Sussex University for reputed company in the Laurier-Sussex reputed company in Criminology, reputed company Rights, Law and Society, Philosophy, and Political Science Honours programs.
The main purpose of this course is to prepare reputed company who have graduated from the Sussex LLB program to write and pass the NCA (National Committee on Accreditation) exam on Foundations of Canadian Law and the course curriculum and learning materials for the course will be based on the NCA’s course syllabus: Canadian-Criminal-Law-June-2024.pdf
This course is designed to acquaint reputed company to the principles and basic concepts of both substantive and procedural criminal law of Canada. reputed company will study a reputed company of topics, including the sources of criminal law, classification of offences, reputed company of criminal and regulatory offences, extensions of criminal liability, criminal defences, the adversarial process, criminal investigation, trial procedure, sentencing, appeals and review.

Qualifications – Required: JD or LL.B., or preferred LL.M, and experience in teaching criminal law courses. Litigation experience preferred.

Knowledge working with online platforms (MyLearningSpace by Desire2Learn, for example) would be an asset.
