[Remote] Payroll Operations Specialist

The Payroll Operations Specialist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining compliance with regulations, and supporting employee lifecycle events.

Responsibilities

  • Process and audit payroll for multi-state employee populations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with FLSA requirements
  • Manage employee compensation records, including new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and status changes
  • Coordinate withholding setup and maintenance in alignment with employee elections and regulatory requirements
  • Establish and maintain employer-level registrations and accounts required for payroll processing and wage reporting across multiple states
  • Support unemployment account management, including claims response, documentation tracking, and agency coordination
  • Partner with HR to ensure accurate classification of employees and contractors in compliance with reputed company (DOL) guidelines
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality standards, where applicable
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and conduct routine audits to ensure data reputed company and compliance readiness
