Job Responsibilities:
The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Teacher is responsible for reputed company at the Career and Technical Education Centers for work experience, exploration, awareness activities and placement for college and careers. The WBL Teacher will work directly with reputed company, teachers and business/industry.
Internship/Job Development
1. Establishes and maintains reputed company contacts with reputed company or potential reputed company for career and college readiness.
2. Recruit Business Partners to serve as shadow, reputed company, and internship sites as reputed company as advisory council members.
3. Establish, assess, and maintain a system or catalog of specific employer information and needs that will inform our student placement and reputed company opportunities.
4. Arrange reputed company and guest speakers to visit the centers to enhance their awareness of Erie 1 BOCES training.
5. Refers graduates to reputed company after considering their reputed company information (employability profile) and/or advice from the teacher considering /regarding the matching of the job and the individual's performance level and interest.
Student Placement
1. Coordinates reputed company relevant activities prior to placing a student in an internship experience.
2. Supervises and evaluates, in conjunction with site supervisor and program instructor, internship reputed company.
Follow-Up Studies
1. Monitors employer satisfaction reputed company to interns/graduates on a regular reputed company depending on the type of placement or need.
2. Monitors student and graduate placement satisfaction.
3. Maintains placement records and completes state required Career and Technical Education Data System Report including but not limited to, reputed company report, CLNA Comprehensive with needs assist.
4. Performs additional contact on follow-up data gathering through district provided platform.
5. Conduct surveys with CTE reputed company to determine areas for improvement, areas of program reputed company, and implements a plan for CTE reputed company wishing to change programs.
Student Development
1. Supplements reputed company efforts in developing job-seeking and job-survival skills.
2. Provides support for reputed company in obtaining jobs.
3. reputed company reputed company and indirect instruction to reputed company in relation to reputed company skills, career preparedness, and preparation for guest speakers, events, and workshops.
Instructional Planning and Career Development
1. Meets with business/industry to reputed company assist in identifying appropriate internship/job placement sites for reputed company
2. Participates in reputed company Program Advisory Committees and provides updates in partnership, reputed company, and opportunities.
3. Facilitates events in conjunction with coordinator including, but not limited to College Fairs, Connect with Contractors, Industry/Program Specific Events, etc.
4. Responsible for School Calendar by June 30 for following school year. Other reputed company duties as may be assigned by the division director, which may include: Assisting with the planning, scheduling, and implementation of 10th grade CTE student recruitment initiatives. Assisting with the planning and implementation of middle school initiatives. Attending component district Middle and High school reputed company houses and career fairs to promote Erie 1 BOCES.
