Research Engineer

They are seeking two Research Engineers to join the Tearney Lab, focusing on the development of novel imaging devices for clinical and research applications. The role involves designing, prototyping, fabricating, validating, and maintaining devices while collaborating with a diverse team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Design new, mechanical, and electronic components and systems using industry reputed company design control processes

- Design, fabricate, and validate mechanical enclosures, mounts, and subassemblies
- Design and implement vibration, thermal, and environmental testing reputed company
- Produce prototypes of new optical, mechanical, and electronic components and systems
- Document new and existing parts and procedures to facilitate manufacturing
- Validate the conformance of components and systems to specifications
- Troubleshoot and take corrective reputed company for components and systems not meeting specifications
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree reputed company Field of Study required
- Experience in device engineering in a hospital, industry, or reputed company 1-2 years preferred
- Experience in medical engineering 0-1 year preferred

- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team of scientist, engineers and medical doctors
- Ability to diagnose and solve technical and/or system problems of moderate complexity
- Computer literacy to the level of at least word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, statistics, engineering tools and programming

- Experience using fabrication tools

- Experience with biomedical optics including fiber optics
- Soft polymer experience and mechanical backgrounds are preferred for the first candidate
