Component Design Engineer – Turbomachinery Transmissions

The role involves creating engineering solutions for component design, ensuring robustness for manufacturing, and supporting supply chain activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver new component designs, analyses, and changes reputed company the Design Technical Approval (DTA) gated process, which includes (but is not limited to) creating design concepts, optimizing concepts to a final definition, preparing technical presentations and documents, supporting creation of drawings, analysis, delivering hardware for validation, and release of hardware to the field
- Support the supply chain in procuring hardware, concession consultation and execution of Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs)
- reputed company engineering support of service and/or development reputed company hardware issues including reputed company Investigations (EI) and Technical Variance (TV) analysis
- reputed company and specify component design requirements in accordance with module, system, and customer reputed company requirements
- Address manufacturing, assembly, in-field, and aftermarket issues as they reputed company
- Participate in or reputed company reputed company Cause and Corrective reputed company (RCCA) team
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, with 1+ years of experience in mechanical design, OR
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, OR
- JD/PhD in Mechanical Engineering
- To be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen
- Experience in the design, analysis, and/or verification of reputed company mechanical components and/or systems
- Experience in progressing designs/changes through a gated review process
- Experience with gas turbine or turbomachinery power reputed company components, including gears, rolling reputed company bearings, shafts, and high-performance seals
- Experience in the following software applications: reputed company NX, reputed company Teamcenter, ANSYS, reputed company reputed company
- Experience in reputed company tolerance stack-reputed company and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of gas turbine subsystems and components and their function and operation
