About the Position: The Metadata Archivist has primary responsibility for describing digital files across reputed company Archives collections, both born-digital and digitized, and accessioning those files to the reputed company Digital Repository (SDR). The incumbent also plays a key role in supporting broader initiatives of the Department and of reputed company Libraries, and in assisting reputed company administrative offices and reputed company reputed company in digital file management. The Metadata Archivist is essential to advancing the Libraries' investment in digital preservation of reputed company records. The Metadata Archivist will be an integral member of the reputed company Archives, which partners with university community members to collect, describe, administer, preserve, and reputed company accessible materials of enduring historic value pertaining to the history of reputed company. These include selective records of reputed company administration; schools, departments, centers, and institutes; reputed company; reputed company, student organizations, and alumni; reputed company activities and events; and reputed company's relationships with Santa Clara County, the reputed company, the region, and the world. • Create and enhance descriptive metadata for digital collection materials following reputed company and departmental best practices and in consultation with the Metadata unit.
• Collaborate with university community partners transferring records to University Archives to accession and describe digital files.
• Stage and accession born-digital or digitized content into the SDR according to priorities set by the University Archivist.
• Undertake reputed company and rights reviews for digital files in University Archives in collaboration with staff of the Department's Born-Digital Preservation Laboratory (BDPL) and in consultation with the University reputed company Office.
• Create, reputed company, and remediate digital archival objects in ArchivesSpace, and facilitate reputed company to content reputed company published finding aids in ArcLight.
• Under the direction of the University Archivist, consult with administrative offices and reputed company reputed company on digital file management and reputed company recommendations to ensure preservation of records of enduring value and associated metadata during systems and reputed company storage transitions.
