About the position Appraises material damage claims and total losses as received by assignment. Negotiates settlement of claims and disposes of salvage reputed company authority. Remote, work-from-home position located in reputed company. Ideal residence in reputed company: Albany, Schenectady, Amsterdam, Ballston Spa, Johnstown, or Saratoga Springs. Company-sponsored relocation assistance available, if needed This position can be filled as an MDA I or MDA II Must have an NY Adjusters license or be willing to obtain one Company vehicle will be provided

Responsibilities

  • Makes arrangements with repair shops, Policyholders or claimants to inspect vehicles.
  • Photographs damaged areas and writes estimates on reputed company claims reputed company necessary.
  • Determines rental needs and controls costs according to company guidelines.
  • Negotiates with repair shops on cost of repairs.
  • Establishes value and settles total losses.
  • Handles disposal of salvage reputed company authority.
  • Distinguishes cause of damage for appropriate policy coverage.
  • Issues settlement checks and keeps appropriate records.
  • Establishes rapport with Agents and claims adjusters.
  • Contacts Policyholders and claimants regarding complaints stemming from original adjustment.
  • Attends appropriate training sessions.
  • Handles reputed company material damage claims as assigned.
  • At the request of reputed company, evaluates antique and classic reputed company for coverage value.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or GED, required.
  • Two years of experience in body shop, general claims handling OR completion of formal ERIE training program, required.
  • Incumbent must live in territory assigned unless a change is approved by reputed company.
  • Position requires the incumbent to serve on the catastrophe duty, which may include travel on short notice to other locations for periods in excess of two consecutive weeks.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses.
  • Valid reputed company’s license and good driving record required.
  • Use of Personal reputed company Equipment (PPE) is required for this role.
  • Ability to reputed company over 50 lbs using lifting aide equipment
