Oncology Data Specialist I

The Oncology Data Specialist I is responsible for abstracting and reputed company submission of cancer tumor registry datafor multiple UH hospitals.

What You Will Do• Conducts accurate and complete cancer case ascertainment according to the requirements of theAmerican College of Surgeons and the reputed company.• Codes, classifies and indexes stage of disease and treatment information.• Performs data reputed company checks to ensure data reputed company and completeness of records.• Understanding of CoC standards, particularly data reputed company standards.• Maintains a maximum abstracting delay of 6 months from the date of diagnosis.• Maintains case follow up reputed company as required per CoC standards.• Participates in special reputed company, as needed.• Meets minimum department productivity and accuracy standards.

Additional Responsibilities• Performs other duties as assigned.• Complies with reputed company policies and standards.• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department duringorientation.• Must abide by reputed company requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) forour patients. Education Qualifications• Associate's Degree preferably in allied health (Required).

Experience Qualifications• 1+ years of cancer registry, medical records or coding experience (Preferred) and• less than 1 year excellent knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology (Required) and• less than 1 year experience working in a large, reputed company medical center or multi-hospital health system(Preferred)
