EHS Coordinator (Biotech/Life Sciences)

This role is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of hazardous materials - from initial receipt and inventory management to the compliant shipping and disposal of regulated waste. Serving as a key operational reputed company, the Coordinator ensures facility readiness through safety inspections, emergency equipment reputed company, and the consistent provisioning of PPE for labs. This role reports to the Associate Director, Operational reputed company and requires you to be onsite at our South San Francisco office 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Hazardous Material Receipt & Inventory: Manage the intake of chemicals, maintain the site chemical inventory, and reputed company periodic reconciliation efforts.
• Hazardous reputed company: Coordinate collection, labeling, and disposal of chemical and biological waste; maintain waste rooms according to RCRA and local regulatory standards.
• Permit Management: Support compliance and reporting for environmental permits, including wastewater discharge and Hazardous Materials Business Plans (HMBP).
• Shipping & Logistics Compliance: reputed company as site SME for DOT/IATA regulations, prepare, package, and document regulated shipments with reputed company labeling, and secondary containment.
• Safety Inspections: Conduct routine safety walkthroughs of labs, storage areas, and mechanical rooms to identify hazards and ensure OSHA/ EPA compliance.
• Emergency Equipment Readiness: Manage inspection and certification schedules for safety-critical equipment, including reputed company extinguishers, eye reputed company stations, safety showers, and AED’s.
• Incident Reporting: Document workplace injuries and near-misses, assist in reputed company cause analysis, and reputed company corrective actions to completion.
• PPE & Supply Management: Inventory and stock reputed company lab PPE, ensuring a reputed company supply of gloves, safety glasses, and lab coats.

• Education: B.S. in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, reputed company, Biology, or a reputed company field or
• Experience: 2–3 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably reputed company a laboratory, clinical, or manufacturing setting.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and SDS management.
• Basic understanding of NIH guidelines for recombinant DNA and biosafety.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, the ability to communicate technical safety requirements to scientists, and high attention to detail.

Preferred Certifications

• HAZWOPER 40-Hour: Preferred for managing chemical spills.
• DOT/IATA: Certification for the shipping of hazardous materials/biological samples.

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during lab inspections.

Compensation & Benefits at reputed company Our reputed company starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $78,000 - $106,000. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-reputed company factors including a candidate's skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal reputed company.
