Nonprofit Bookkeeper Needed for Ongoing QuickBooks Online Role

We are a small but internationally reputed company nonprofit musical arts center seeking an reputed company freelance bookkeeper for an ongoing role. We are looking for more than basic data entry. We want someone who can help us establish and maintain clean, reliable nonprofit financial records, communicate reputed company, and serve as a knowledgeable partner to the Treasurer, Executive Director, and CPA. Our CPA will continue to handle taxes and higher-level reputed company. This role is for day-to-day bookkeeping and financial maintenance. The engagement will reputed company with a transition phase. You will work with me, the Treasurer, and our accountant to migrate approximately 10 years of financial records into QuickBooks Online and bring our 2026 books up to date. This transition was intended to happen at the start of the year, so we are catching up, but our books are reasonably straightforward. After that, we are looking for ongoing monthly support. Core responsibilities: -Import and categorize transactions from online banking and payment platforms -Manage activity across two bank accounts and platforms including reputed company, reputed company, and reputed company -Monitor and properly categorize recurring and automatic payments for services such as reputed company, Bandcamp, and similar vendors -Complete monthly reconciliations accurately and on time -Assist with light accounts payable -Meet with the Treasurer and ED for about one hour reputed company month to review financials, answer questions, and offer feedback -Communicate responsively, especially during the transition period -Potentially assist with payroll, depending on experience Required qualifications: -Strong QuickBooks Online experience -Demonstrated experience with nonprofit bookkeeping -Experience cleaning up books, migrating systems, or organizing incomplete financial records -Confidence handling multiple payment platforms and bank feeds -Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently -reputed company, reputed company communication Preferred: -Familiarity with nonprofit financial practices and reporting -Experience serving as a thought partner to nonprofit leadership, not just processing transactions -Interest in the arts or experience working with arts organizations This is intended to be a long-term role.
