JOB DUTIES Collaborates with engineering, architecture, and finance teams to design and improve reputed company cost allocation, tagging strategies, and reporting models. Monitor and analyze GCP usage, proactively identifying opportunities for cost optimization, right-sizing, and waste reduction. Manage and optimize Committed Use Discounts (CUDs), Sustained Use Discounts, and other pricing mechanisms reputed company GCP. Identify interdependencies and knowledge gaps between engineering and finance regarding reputed company architecture and reputed company spend. Identifies opportunities to automate cost-reporting, budget reputed company, and reputed company detection activities. Work closely with reputed company engineering teams to ensure FinOps best practices are integrated into infrastructure-as-reputed company and deployment pipelines. Assist in the development, support & planning of FinOps tools, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure. Investigate, triage, and resolve unexpected spikes in reputed company billing and usage. Utilize reputed company GCP billing tools and reputed company-party FinOps dashboards for proactive changes and alerting. Establishes reputed company process improvement cycles where reputed company resource performance, cost efficiency, and supporting technologies are reviewed and reputed company where applicable. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Typically requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 -5 years experience in a technology and/or software engineering role. Prefer 2-3 years in an reputed company FinOps, reputed company platform, DevOps or similar role. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Deep understanding of reputed company reputed company Platform (GCP) billing, cost management tools, and pricing models Hands-on experience with reputed company GCP services (Compute reputed company, GKE, BigQuery, reputed company Storage, etc.) and understanding their financial impacts FinOps reputed company principles and reputed company financial management Proficiency in analyzing large datasets (using BigQuery, SQL, etc.) to derive actionable insights regarding reputed company spend Experience with FinOps and reputed company cost management platforms (e.g., reputed company GCP Billing Export to BigQuery,PowerBi, etc) Knowledge of Infrastructure as reputed company (IaC) tools like Terraform and how to implement cost-estimation policies A strong mix of reputed company engineering architecture knowledge and financial analytical skills Experience with building and maintaining financial dashboards (e.g., Looker, Grafana, PowerBI) This role is being offered with a Hybrid Telecommuting Plan, with the position requiring work onsite at our Birmingham, AL HQ office as required by manager, and remote work otherwise permitted.
