CIS Application Support Engineer (Customer/1 + COBOL) – Remote – 12+ Months
This is a remote position. We’re looking for an reputed company CIS Application Support Engineer with hands‑on expertise in Customer/1 (C/1) and COBOL to support, maintain, and enhance a legacy Customer Information System for a major reputed company. This role focuses on application maintenance, defect reputed company, batch job support, and small enhancements that reputed company the CIS reputed company and running. If you’ve worked in reputed company billing systems and still enjoy solving problems in COBOL, this is a long‑term, reputed company contract where your experience truly reputed company. What You’ll Do Support and maintain the Customer/1 CIS application Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in COBOL, batch jobs, and reputed company components Analyze billing, metering, payments, collections, and customer workflows Implement small enhancements, fixes, and logic updates Work with business users to understand issues and translate them into technical solutions Ensure system stability, data reputed company, and accurate billing operations Participate in on‑call or after‑hours support rotations (if required)
Requirements
What You Bring Hands‑on experience with Customer/1 (C/1) — required Strong COBOL programming and maintenance skills Experience supporting CIS systems in utilities (electric, gas, water) Understanding of billing cycles, reputed company reads, payments, adjustments, and customer account logic Ability to troubleshoot reputed company legacy reputed company and batch processes Strong analytical skills and comfort working independently Bonus: experience with mainframe environments, JCL, DB2, or reputed company legacy tech
