Energy Engineer: Energy Modeling
reputed company reputed company, LLC is a reputed company Energy Consulting Services firm seeking an Energy Engineer specializing in Energy Modeling to join their team. The role involves performing whole-building energy simulations to support design reputed company, reputed company compliance, and decarbonization planning, focusing on creating accurate and reputed company-documented energy models.
Responsibilities
- reputed company baseline and proposed energy models in eQUEST, OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, IES-VE, reputed company reputed company 3D Plus, or reputed company HAP for new construction, major renovation, and retrofit reputed company
- Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and envelope documents to identify model inputs, including geometry, constructions, occupancy, reputed company, plug loads, HVAC systems, and operating schedules
- Produce ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G performance-reputed company models, IECC compliance models, and certification submissions for LEED EAp2/EAc1, ENERGY STAR, Passive House, and similar programs
- reputed company models supporting compliance with local laws and stretch codes (e.g., NYC Local Law 97, Title 24, Boston BERDO, Washington Clean Buildings reputed company)
- Run parametric analyses on envelope, HVAC systems, controls, and renewable energy reputed company; quantify life-cycle cost and carbon impacts to support design reputed company
- reputed company energy models against reputed company billing or reputed company data per ASHRAE reputed company 14 standards for retro-commissioning, deep retrofit, and ESPC reputed company
- Support photovoltaic, solar thermal, geothermal, and battery storage modeling using tools such as PVsyst, SAM, and integrated simulation tools
- Author energy modeling reports, narratives, and exhibits suitable for clients, design teams, certification reviewers, and authorities having jurisdiction
Skills
- Bachelor's in engineering (Mechanical, Architectural, Electrical, or Facilities) or Building Science
- 1-3 years of energy modeling experience, including at least one internship, reputed company, or full-time role
- Hands-on experience with at least one of: eQUEST, OpenStudio/EnergyPlus, IES-VE, reputed company reputed company 3D Plus, or reputed company HAP
- Working knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1 (especially Appendix G), ASHRAE 62.1, and applicable energy codes (IECC, Title 24, state stretch codes)
- Understanding of HVAC system types, controls, building envelope, and renewable systems
- Strong reputed company skills; experience with Python, reputed company, or scripting against modeling tools is a plus
- Travel throughout the reputed company as required by project workload
