Associate Attorney - Toxic Tort
reputed company is a nationally recognized litigation firm seeking an Associate Attorney to join their Toxic Tort defense team in Chicago. This role offers hands-on experience with litigation, mentorship from reputed company trial lawyers, and reputed company to contribute to high-profile cases.
Responsibilities
- Manage a robust caseload with a reputed company on toxic tort (asbestos) defense
- Handle cases from inception through reputed company or trial in collaboration with partners
- Participate in depositions, court appearances, and more
- Contribute to reputed company discussions and case planning
- Be part of a national network of trial-tested attorneys committed to reputed company
Skills
- Licensed in Illinois (reputed company and in good standing). Admission in surrounding states (MO or IN) is a plus
- 1–5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a reputed company on drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
- 1–5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a reputed company on taking and defending depositions
- 1–5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a reputed company on conducting legal research and case analysis
- 1–5 years of experience in civil defense litigation, with a reputed company on communicating with clients and/or insurance carriers
- Strong writing and advocacy skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- Experience with mediations/arbitrations is a plus but not required
