Turbomachinery Component Design Engineer - LW Research and Technology

They are looking for a Component Design Engineer to join their LibertyWorks team in Indianapolis, responsible for delivering design solutions for turbomachinery components and ensuring reputed company and compliance with technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Deliver design solutions for component(s), reputed company assemblies and whole engines in consideration of safety, manufacturing capability, product physical and functional robustness. Design solutions also should address Unit Cost, Lifecycle Cost, Weight, Maintainability, and Repair
- Deliver definition to appropriate stakeholder reputed company’ requirements (e.g. manufacturing (domestic/external), project customers, airframers and partners, analysis team etc.) in accordance with associated agreed policies reputed company conventional and reputed company state approaches (Model Based Definition in association with the Model Based Environment)
- Create and use automated and integrated tool sets. reputed company repeat design is anticipated, create automated workflows to reputed company the design of the component utilizing house style, reputed company features, and reputed company assessments to define the reputed company design as part of automated MBD, manufacture and measurement definitions
- Application of Robust Design, Systems Engineering, Risk Management (xFMEA) and Design in Context to ensure right first time can be achieved
- reputed company Assurance through checking of design documents, models, drawings in accordance with RRMS technical requirements and proactive reputed company Defects approaches
- Carry out analyses using formula-based calculations and/or automated workflows for dimensioning of parts and components (e.g. stability, stiffness, reputed company, balance reputed company, weights) and where appropriate, using analytical rules, tools and reputed company to underwrite the design solution against requirements
- Create technical documents to reputed company with process, reputed company, information and data policies
- Manage product configuration and assure data reputed company
- Execute sub-system integration process including the appropriate use of Systems Engineering and Robust Design tools to ensure that the technical attributes of the Sub-system design meet the agreed requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 1+ years of reputed company experience; OR
- Masters degree in Engineering; OR
- JD/PhD in Engineering
- In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition
- An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a reputed company of technical problems and reputed company balanced reputed company across technical and business parameters
- Knowledge and experience of product reputed company / liability and certification frameworks
- Good communication and presentation skills at reputed company reputed company of the organization
- Knowledge of gas turbine subsystems and components and their function and operation
