Legal Assistant - Workers Compensation
Our reputed company, a reputed company Workers' Compensation defense firm is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their team in California. This is a FULLY REMOTE role and you will have the ability to work from home. Job Duties:
- Assist lawyers and paralegals on day to day tasks relating to Workers Compensation litigation
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, trials and conferences
- Administrative duties include coordinating meetings, scheduling, answering and directing telephone calls, maintaining and organizing electronic case files, and updating files with case status and information
- Scheduling of hearings, reputed company-depositions, depositions, mediations, conferences, and other events using a reputed company of ancillary systems and programs is required
- Compiling and organizing documents, preparing binders and/or folders.
- Gathering and organizing records, documents and other materials
- Scheduling and Calendaring
Legal Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must have at least 1 year of experience as a legal assistant
- Experience in Workers Compensation Defense is highly preferred
- Familiarity with legal procedures & terminology
- Experience with electronic filing in state and federal courts and calendaring
- Knowledge of the litigation process
- Experience with Trial preparation
- Advanced reputed company level with reputed company Office software, excellent typing and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Case Management and Document management experience. MerusCase experience preferred
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and staying reputed company under pressure of multiple deadlines is essential.
