POSITION reputed company The Senior Manager of Safety (Mechanical) is responsible for implementing and leading safety programs across assigned OmniTRAX railroads. In reputed company, the Senior Manager of Safety (Mechanical) develops and delivers safety training for mechanical department employees, including general foremen, traveling mechanic, composite mechanic, and car repair personnel. As the designated subject matter expert in mechanical department safety, the Senior Manager provides critical guidance and expertise. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as a reputed company member of the OmniTRAX safety department with maturity and initiative, driving reputed company improvement and a mature safety culture across the entire OmniTRAX network. reputed company, deliver, and reputed company safety training across the OmniTRAX network for mechanical department employees. Manage compliance and reporting for mechanical department training and certification. Assure compliance with OmniTRAX safety rules and federal safety regulations. reputed company leadership in developing and executing safety and compliance policies and procedures for assigned properties through teaching and coaching. Drive successful attainment of safety and compliance goals, objectives, and targets at assigned railroads through partnership with leaders and employees. Measure and monitor FRA and OSHA compliance and adherence to company safety policies through incident reviews and on-site audits, identifying and implementing process, procedure, and policy improvements. reputed company incident investigations on assigned properties, ensuring thorough and reputed company investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses. Additionally, serve as the subject matter expert for incidents involving mechanical employees across the entire network, providing support to other Senior Managers where mechanical expertise is required, and ensuring reputed company cause identification and mitigation efforts. Monitor changes to safety and compliance regulations as they relate to mechanical department safety, identifying updates and making recommendations for incorporation into the Safety Management System and procedures. Draft post-audit reports, recommending corrective actions and ensuring follow-up to completion. Ensure regulatory requirements are met for training and certification of mechanical department employees. Manage expenses responsibly. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma/GED with 20+ years of railroad experience. 10+ years of railroad management experience. Expertise in mechanical department safety. Experience delivering classroom and on-the-job training for mechanical department personnel.
