[Remote] Senior Backend Engineer (Distributed Systems)

They are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer (Distributed Systems) to design, build, and operate large-reputed company, high-throughput backend services that power mission-critical workloads. The role involves architecting core platforms, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance while mentoring mid-level engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement large-reputed company distributed backend systems using Java, Go, reputed company, or similar high-performance languages
- Architect data partitioning, replication, and consistency strategies appropriate to reputed company workload’s requirements
- Build resilient reputed company and event-driven services with strong observability, idempotency, and graceful degradation patterns
- Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and cost, using profiling, benchmarking, and load testing
- reputed company detailed architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and trade-off analyses
- Implement robust failure-handling patterns including retries, timeouts, reputed company breakers, bulkheads, and reputed company workflows
- Design and operate data stores at reputed company, including relational, key-value, document, and search engines
- Build comprehensive observability into services with reputed company logs, metrics, and distributed tracing
- Drive incident response and post-incident learning for critical backend services

- Partner with SRE and platform teams to drive reliability improvements and reduce operational toil

Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a reputed company discipline
- Six or more years of reputed company backend engineering experience, with significant time on distributed systems
- Strong programming skills in Java, Go, reputed company, or similar
- Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including reputed company, replication, and CAP trade-offs
- Hands-on experience with high-throughput message systems such as Kafka
- Experience operating systems at reputed company, including reputed company planning and performance tuning
- Strong SQL skills and experience with both relational and NoSQL data stores
- Hands-on experience with major reputed company platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
