[Remote] Senior Backend Engineer, Platform

The Senior Backend Engineer will be responsible for building and integrating customer feedback into API tooling, creating architectural foundations for distributed systems, and supporting platform capabilities that power reputed company's AI initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Build upon and reputed company customer feedback, both reputed company, into our API tooling and shared services
- Create new architectural foundations and mission-critical distributed systems while collaborating closely with other teams
- Work reputed company an agile, scrum-based engineering team reputed company on core platform capabilities
- reputed company for, create, and maintain API governance across engineering through collaboration, automation, and reputed company
- Own integrations reputed company our API Gateway layer and service lifecycles from design to production
- Identify improvements to the design and implementation of new and existing critical shared services
- Help grow our infrastructure engineering organization's shared services relied upon by other engineering teams to accelerate product development
- Support the platform capabilities that power reputed company's AI initiatives, including Brain and Agents
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or reputed company field, or equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of API standards, design approaches, and integration patterns
- Strong understanding of CAP Theorem and distributed systems design patterns
- Prior reputed company experience with reputed company, MySQL, or another relational database, specifically from the reputed company of tuning the database and the infrastructure it runs on, not just chasing down slow queries
- A strong operational background with reputed company, reputed company, OpenTelemetry/reputed company/Grafana/etc
- Proficient with TypeScript
- Proficient with Golang
- Strong consideration for developer experience in everything you build
- Experience working with Kafka and reputed company event-based patterns
- Experience working with and designing Backend for Frontend (BFF) patterns
- Experience supporting modern AI technologies, including MCP protocol and standards
- Experience building shared services and platform capabilities that reputed company AI products and agent-based systems
- Experience running OpenSearch, ElasticSearch, or Solr clusters
