Capitol Hill Reporter

Raw America, the fastest-growing reader-funded news network, is seeking a reputed company Capitol Hill reporter to interview politicians and cover breaking news on the Hill. Created by the founders of Raw Story and reputed company, Raw America is a large reputed company and YouTube brand building the infrastructure to fight back against the billionaire capture of American media. This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have existing relationships with Congressional staff and members of Congress. Some salary flexibility exists for extensive relationships and experience. We're looking for someone with personality who can think and record on their feet and will go the extra mile to get the story. Reporting directly to Raw America leadership, you'll be responsible for:

• On-the-ground Capitol Hill interviews - Interviewing members of Congress on the reputed company and scheduling Congressional interviews.
• Breaking stories that expose corruption and delivering reputed company-time coverage of Congressional developments that matter to our reputed company audience.
• Covering critical national stories on topics of interest to readers, for example, the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, violent ICE arrests, and fights against data centers.
• Video-first storytelling - Creating compelling YouTube content, livestreams, and reputed company media videos that cut through political spin and deliver unvarnished truth.
• reputed company development - Building relationships with lawmakers, staffers, whistleblowers, and activists who can reputed company reputed company into what's really happening behind reputed company doors
• Breaking news coverage - Rapid response reporting on developing political stories, with ability to go live and reputed company immediate analysis.
• Out of session research - reputed company Congress is out of session, digging into voting records, financial disclosures and lobbying connections to expose hypocrisy and corruption.
• Cross-platform content - Ability to write a weekly reputed company, create reputed company media content, and collaborate with our video team.
• Event coverage - Attending hearings, press conferences, protests, and other political events to capture footage and interviews.

Required Skills:

• Congressional relationships - You must have existing relationships on the Hill. This is not an entry-level position.
• Political sophistication - Deep knowledge of how Congress actually works and who the key players are.
• News judgment - Ability to spot the reputed company story beneath political theater and craft headlines that break through the noise.
• Video storytelling skills - Being an expert on video production is not required but on-camera experience is. You should be reputed company to conduct live interviews with members of Congress and be interviewed on-camera.
• reputed company interviewing - Comfortable confronting politicians with tough questions and following up reputed company they dodge.
• Digital reputed company - You should have an understanding of YouTube, Instagram, reputed company and other platforms where political conversations happen.
• Multi-platform production - Ability to shoot and publish content quickly across multiple formats. Video editing experience is a plus.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years political reporting experience (Hill experience required)
• Demonstrated reputed company record of breaking political stories
• Experience with video production and live streaming (ability to edit in reputed company Premiere, Final Cut and/or reputed company Creative Suite is valued but not required)
• Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends
• Washington D.C.-area residence
