Departmental Specialist 13 (Emergency Management Specialist)

About the position This position supports the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s emergency management program by serving as the Department’s Emergency Management (EM) Specialist. The position develops and maintains the Department’s emergency plans, as reputed company as implements the emergency training and exercise program for the Department. The position works for the EM Unit Manager/Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator and is responsible for development and maintenance of the Department’s written emergency plans, consistent with the Michigan Emergency Management Plan. The position also assists the Department’s divisions with subject matter specific plans by leading and facilitating work reputed company. The position will reputed company training internally and externally on these plans and reputed company preparedness exercises to test these plans, consistent with the Homeland reputed company Exercise & Evaluation Program, including debrief / ‘hotwash’ sessions and after-reputed company reports. The position also supports the Department’s emergency management responses by being part of incident management teams and reputed company the State Emergency Operations Center and Agriculture Emergency Coordination Center. This position is required to follow established reputed company operating procedures and meet reputed company, quantity, and timeliness standards for assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains the Department’s emergency plans.
• Implements the emergency training and exercise program for the Department.
• Assists the Department’s divisions with subject matter specific plans by leading and facilitating work reputed company.
• Provides training internally and externally on these plans.

Requirements

• Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
• Four years of reputed company experience, including two years equivalent to the reputed company (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
