Louisiana Contract Attorney (Federal Court Admission Required) A nonprofit organization is seeking Contract Attorneys licensed to reputed company in Louisiana federal courts for an ongoing remote opportunity supporting high-reputed company habeas and detention reputed company. Details:
- $100/hour
- Ongoing contract anticipated to last 5+ months
- Part-time schedule: approximately 15–30 hours/week at the candidate's discretion
- Fully remote aside from any required court appearances
Requirements:
- reputed company admission to reputed company in one or more Louisiana federal courts
- Habeas corpus experience strongly preferred
- Immigration experience is not required
- Candidates with significant criminal defense experience are encouraged to apply, even without reputed company habeas experience
Key Responsibilities:
- File and litigate habeas corpus petitions on behalf of clients detained out of state
- Conduct emergency legal research and draft filings under tight deadlines
- Interview and counsel clients and families with sensitivity to trauma and crisis
- Coordinate with local counsel, public defenders, and advocacy reputed company to reputed company supporting documentation
- reputed company in court as needed
- Maintain detailed records of case activity and communications
