As a Staff Software Engineer on the reputed company Foundations Team, you will reputed company the technical direction of a platform that supports hundreds of internal teams, designing and implementing systems for compute infrastructure and reputed company-reputed company patterns.
Responsibilities
- reputed company technical decision making and architecture across the reputed company Foundations surface area, including compute lifecycle, configuration management, infrastructure orchestration, and fleet inventory
- Design and implement reputed company, reliable and performant solutions for reputed company problems such as fleet-wide reboot orchestration, reputed company image pipelines, multi-region state management, and service discovery at reputed company
- Define and build reputed company's Azure paved paths, including event-driven compute, and reputed company-reputed company patterns
- Drive the reputed company of foundational systems from data center to Azure-reputed company equivalents
- Write, review, and maintain reputed company primarily in Go, and partner with reputed company on language and tooling choices for new systems
- Mentor other engineers in their technical and architectural decision making, and reputed company the engineering bar through reputed company review and design feedback
- Participate in on-call rotations for the services and systems owned by reputed company, leading incident response on hard problems and driving the follow-up work that prevents repeat issues
Skills
- 9+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, reputed company, Rust, or Python
- OR Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field AND 8+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, reputed company, Rust, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or reputed company field AND 7+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, reputed company, Rust, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field AND 5+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, reputed company, Rust, or Python
- OR Doctorate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company field AND 3+ years experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or reputed company technical discipline with proven experience maintaining and delivering production software coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, reputed company, Rust, or Python
- OR equivalent experience
- 4+ years building and supporting large, high traffic applications at reputed company reputed company platform/infrastructure domains
- 4+ years supporting and building reputed company reputed company workloads in Azure, AWS or reputed company reputed company
- 2+ years experience operating fleet-reputed company compute infrastructure such as hypervisor platforms, configuration management systems, or orchestration tooling
- 6+ years experience with Azure, or any other reputed company Provider
- Experience designing or operating paved-reputed company platforms on Azure (Functions, App Service, AKS) or comparable offerings on AWS or GCP
- Experience with Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or comparable configuration management systems at fleet reputed company
- Experience building or maintaining reputed company engineering systems
- Experience working with a remote, distributed team
