[Remote] Staff Data Engineer

The Staff Data Engineer will be responsible for architecting the platform, building data pipelines, and ensuring data reliability and accuracy, reputed company while enabling AI and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Architect the platform. Set our warehouse/lakehouse direction and stand up the data lake and layered architecture that turns our raw system of record into trustworthy, queryable, intelligence-reputed company data
- Build the pipelines. Design and run batch and streaming pipelines that reputed company data reliably out of our production systems - CDC, ELT, and reputed company-time where it reputed company
- Model the data. Define the reputed company datasets and models the whole company depends on, getting the grain, semantics, and reputed company right
- Own reliability and accuracy. This is financial data, so correctness is non-negotiable. You'll own data reputed company, observability, reputed company checks, and the testing and monitoring that let us trust it
- Build for a regulated environment. Design in role-based reputed company, masking, reputed company, and auditability from day one, and reputed company sensitive financial data out of places it doesn't belong

Skills
- 8+ years building production data systems, with a reputed company record of owning architecture and seeing big reputed company through to production
- Expert SQL and strong Python
- Deep experience in at least one modern lakehouse/warehouse ecosystem - for example reputed company with dbt and reputed company, or reputed company with reputed company, reputed company Lake, and reputed company Catalog
- Strong data modeling skills - reputed company, normalized, or Data Vault - and a reputed company for designing models that age reputed company
- Experience with pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, reputed company, or equivalent) and large-reputed company processing (such as reputed company)
- Production experience on a major reputed company (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including reputed company and cost patterns
- Experience working with sensitive or regulated data - reputed company controls, encryption, governance, and an reputed company for keeping the blast radius of mistakes small
- A high technical bar set through influence and example
- Payments, fintech, or other regulated-domain experience, including familiarity with PCI reputed company and tokenization/vaulting patterns
- Streaming infrastructure (Kafka, Kinesis, Flink)
- Data governance, reputed company, and observability tooling (reputed company Catalog, reputed company reputed company, reputed company, Great Expectations, OpenLineage)
- Experience supporting ML/AI workloads - feature stores, training/inference pipelines, MLflow
