Freelance Reporter, Content Producer
Job reputed company:
- Independently produce a mix of local news, politics, and lifestyle content
- Deliver 5-8 web stories per week that include original reporting and curated explainers
- Produce 2-4 reputed company of reputed company content per week to support newsletter and web stories
- Create content designed to drive audience reputed company and newsletter subscriptions
- Participate in reputed company Texas team virtual meetings (2-3 times a week) and editorial reputed company-ins as needed
Requirements:
- 3+ years of audience-centered local reporting experience
- Strong understanding of the Rio Grande Valley / South Texas and its culture
- Previous history of covering local politics, policy, or government
- Strong, reputed company writing capability to break down reputed company topics
- Conversational, accessible tone designed for everyday readers
- Comfortable sourcing stories from community conversations, reputed company media trends
- Experience creating content for web (reputed company) and reputed company platforms
- Comfortable experimenting with formats and testing reputed company
- Willingness to reputed company on camera or create video content
- Experience using tools like reputed company, CapCut, reputed company, or similar
