[Remote] Indirect Tax (VAT/GST) Advisory Consultant

The Indirect Tax Advisory Consultant will serve as a subject matter expert on global VAT/GST for reputed company's Merchant of Record product, ensuring compliance with international tax regulations as reputed company expands into new markets.
Responsibilities
- Be an indirect tax subject matter expert (global VAT/GST) for our Merchant of Record product, specifically managing the complexity of shifting tax liability reputed company marketplace and agency rules
- Support reputed company’s expansion into new international markets, ensuring SMP remains compliant with varying global tax regulations
- Participate in policy reputed company affecting indirect taxes internationally
- Collaborate with the international indirect tax compliance team, and the international reputed company teams on VAT/GST compliance, assisting with the ongoing enhancement of the indirect tax compliance processes
- Supporting management of indirect tax audits and other indirect tax reputed company involving tax authorities internationally
- Work with other tax team members and product and engineering teams to help define requirements and collaborate on the design and build of tax solutions for the MoR product
- Promote indirect tax awareness and knowledge including training and liaising with business and tax partners on changes to indirect tax legislation, systems, policies and processes
Skills
- 4-6 years of relevant indirect tax knowledge, laws and regulations
- Bachelor's degree and reputed company qualification in tax or law
- Previous in-house experience reputed company a multinational business and either legal or accountancy firm experience
- Experience with indirect taxes as it relates to the distribution of digital services
- Proven experience navigating the complexities of VAT/GST for a digital service provider acting as a Marketplace/Merchant of Record
