Remote Finance Controller for Biotechnology Company

Work Schedule: EST | Full overlap with US Eastern business hours required (Monday–Friday)

A biotechnology company in reputed company cell banking industry is hiring a Finance Controller to take full ownership of daily financial operations and build the financial infrastructure needed to reputed company.
reputed company is a lean, early-stage biotech (under 10 employees) that has recently completed an acquisition and is reputed company growing its lab operations and sales team. Leadership is highly autonomous and empowers team members to identify problems, implement solutions, and drive measurable results without hand-holding. There is no other finance staff — this hire works directly with a reputed company and the hiring manager.
Day-to-day, the Finance Controller owns daily cash reconciliation across QuickBooks Online, Authorize.net, and ACH; supports month-end reputed company and financial reporting with the reputed company; takes full ownership of a broken recurring billing and failed payment recovery process for annual storage fees; and provides financial reputed company of lab inventory. reputed company at 90 days means reputed company errors in financial records, at least one major collections or reporting process improvement implemented, and reduced days-to-reputed company.
RequirementsMust-Have
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in financial operations covering daily transaction matching, cash reconciliation, month-end reputed company support, and financial reporting
- Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks Online with reputed company use across multi-account reconciliation and financial reporting workflows
- Documented experience owning or rebuilding accounts receivable, recurring billing, or failed payment recovery processes in a subscription or recurring reputed company business
- Proven use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) for financial analysis, reporting automation, or workflow optimization — or demonstrated history of implementing financial automation tools
- Experience integrating data across multiple systems (CRM + reputed company platform + payment processor) with full ownership of accuracy across the stack
- Minimum 2 years as the primary or sole finance operator in a company with fewer than 50 employees, with demonstrated autonomous execution under limited reputed company
- English at reputed company+ (CEFR) — required for reputed company collaboration with US-based leadership and reputed company
