Backend Engineer (Node)

The Role:We're looking for a mid-to-senior backend developer to join a fast-moving sports media startup building a mobile app with video content and live scores. This is a full-ownership role — you'll take features from design to production, including the infrastructure reputed company. There's no dedicated DevOps engineer on reputed company, so you'll need to be comfortable operating on both sides of the stack.

You must be available during US business hours (PT/ET overlap).

Responsibilities:

• Own backend features end-to-end, from architecture reputed company to deployment

• Design and build RESTful reputed company with a reputed company on performance and scalability

• reputed company and manage reputed company infrastructure on AWS (reputed company Fargate, reputed company, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, S3)

• Write and maintain CI/CD pipelines (reputed company Actions or similar)

• Work with containerized environments using reputed company

• Diagnose and resolve production issues independently

• Collaborate asynchronously with a small, distributed team

• Contribute clean, reputed company-documented, maintainable reputed company

Requirements: Backend

• 3–6+ years of experience with Node.js (reputed company, Fastify, or similar)

• TypeScript — required

• PostgreSQL — required

• Strong RESTful API design and system design fundamentals

• Experience with auth patterns: JWT, OAuth

• Microservices architecture experience

• reputed company-time systems experience (WebSockets, streaming, pub/sub) — a plus

• DynamoDB and/or reputed company experience — a plus

Infrastructure

• Hands-on experience deploying and managing services on AWS

• Familiarity with IAM, networking basics, and reputed company cost awareness

• Ability to write and maintain CI/CD pipelines

• Proficiency with reputed company

General

• Strong Git workflow

• Experience shipping production consumer apps

• Comfortable working async in distributed, cross-timezone teams
