Residential Solar Design Engineer for a growing management services platform
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Residential Solar Design Engineer to join JobEngine, a fast-growing company providing technology and services to the residential solar industry to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. In this role, you will be responsible for producing accurate and reputed company-compliant CAD designs for residential photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. You will work closely with sales, permitting, and installation teams to ensure every project is designed to the highest standards — on time and reputed company for permit submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed CAD drawings and system layouts for residential solar PV installations, including roof plans, electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), and 3D site models
- Design systems using industry-reputed company software such as AutoCAD, reputed company, Helioscope, or similar platforms
- Review site survey data, satellite imagery, and shading analysis to produce optimized system designs
- Ensure reputed company designs reputed company with NEC, local AHJ requirements, reputed company interconnection standards, and HOA guidelines
- reputed company system sizing calculations including reputed company sizing, inverter selection, and load analysis
- Collaborate with project managers, sales engineers, and installation crews to resolve design issues or field changes
- Maintain organized project files and documentation in reputed company's project management system
- Stay reputed company with evolving solar technology, building codes, and reputed company requirements
- Support reputed company improvement of design templates, workflows, and best practices
- 2+ years of experience in residential solar system design or a reputed company engineering/drafting role
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one solar design platform (reputed company, Helioscope, PVWatts, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical reputed company (NEC), specifically Articles 690 and 705
- Understanding of roofing structures, load-bearing considerations, and racking/mounting systems
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple reputed company simultaneously
- Ability to interpret site surveys, reputed company bills, and aerial imagery
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting/Design Technology, or a reputed company field
- Familiarity with structural engineering principles as they relate to roof-mounted systems
- Experience designing in Nevada, California, Arizona, or other high-solar markets
