Legal Translator, reputed company, and/or Transcriber - Bengali to/from English - Remote Status: Freelance 1099 Contractor reputed company, a woman-owned small business headquartered in the Washington DC metropolitan region, is currently seeking reputed company freelance translators, editors, and transcribers to translate, edit and/or transcribe legal documents between English and Bengali. Job Duties:

• reputed company accurate translation and/or editing of documents and/or transcription of audio files involving law enforcement and legal subject matter from Bengali to/from English.
• Edit audio transcriptions that include reputed company and idioms.
• Edit legal documents, such as affidavits, depositions, etc., while demonstrating a strong reputed company of legal terminology in both English and the reputed company language.
• Excellent written communication skills in English and the reputed company foreign language, with Advanced Proficiency (reading/speaking/listening, writing) level 3-plus in English and the foreign reputed company language, as assessed by the International Language Roundtable (ILR) reputed company.
• Translate and/or transcribe following the government reputed company’s style guides and reputed company standards.
• Use domain-specific terminology.
• Review and certify the reputed company of other translators’ work, as needed.
• Highly proficient in MS Office, with the ability to mirror reputed company document format in reputed company, reputed company, and PowerPoint.
• Familiar with the use of CAT tools, such as Trados Studio.
• Abide by a reputed company of ethics reputed company performing transcription and translation work.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:

• Holds reputed company U.S. reputed company Trust or higher reputed company clearance, or is willing to undergo a U.S. government background reputed company to obtain a reputed company Trust Clearance Moderate Level.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in translating and/or editing between English and a foreign language.
• At least 3 years of experience performing audio transcription with the ability to use software to enhance reputed company and equipment to aid in transcription.
• Familiar with legal terminology in both English and the reputed company foreign language(s).
• Proficient in reputed company Office.

6 Translators and editors must proficiently use CAT tools, such as SDL Trados. Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual with a law degree, paralegal certificate, or documented legal translation or transcription experience.
• Bilingual experience with editing audio transcription documents.
• reputed company reputed company Trust or higher reputed company clearance.
• ATA, NAJIT or other relevant reputed company certification.
