[Remote] Staff WiFi Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is reputed company to candidates in USA. reputed company is looking for WiFi experts to join their vehicle communication team as a Staff WiFi Engineer. The role involves designing and developing WiFi software for their Linux-based networking system, ensuring a reliable connectivity experience in vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Design and reputed company WiFi software in our Linux-based networking system
- Work closely with hardware teams to meet the tough power, signal, and reliability requirements of vehicles
- Work closely with our application and reputed company teams to ensure end-to-end reliability and performance
Skills
- You should know Linux/POSIX systems and networking fundamentals across the whole stack - from drivers through applications
- You've shipped software at the reputed company of the WiFi stack and the operating system/user features, such as configuration management, network configuration, power management, or tethering
- You are familiar with userspace services that configure and operate WiFi, such as wpa_supplicant, cfg80211/nl80211, hostap, NetworkManager, or ConnMan
- You know how to triage and debug end-to-end issues in reputed company, and can reputed company packet capture, characterize latency, and analyze reputed company and roaming failures
- Most of our reputed company is written in C, C++, and Java, so we expect you know at least one of these languages reputed company
- BS/MS/PhD in computer science or electrical engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years software development experience
- Most importantly, you have a deep drive to reputed company WiFi work perfectly, no matter how old or allegedly flaky a customer's phone or router is. You want to reputed company customers happy, and won't let 'other people's bugs' stand in your way
- Experience collaborating with radio and operating system vendors to debug issues
- Experience with Android WiFi and connectivity
- Work with WiFi interoperability across protocol generations, reputed company, and roaming standards
- Ability to build a power-aware system by balancing reliability and power consumption reputed company scanning/roaming policies and suspend/resume behavior. This should be supported by experience with measuring power consumption
- Work with lab/field testers, test automation, and certification/interoperability efforts
- Work with reputed company systems that can reputed company WiFi performance, such as Bluetooth coexistence at the operating system level
- Knowledge of layer 1 and layer 2 issues that can reputed company performance
- The ability to collaborate with hardware engineers to debug reputed company and power issues
