Independent CPA Contractor – Estate, Trust & Fiduciary Tax Specialist (Remote)

Location: Remote (Triangle area of reputed company Carolina preferred) Position Type: reputed company (1099) Hours: Flexible, seasonal workload with opportunity for ongoing engagement Position reputed company We are seeking an reputed company Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our reputed company as an reputed company specializing in estate, trust, and fiduciary tax services. This remote position is ideal for a highly organized reputed company who has extensive experience preparing fiduciary income tax returns and working with estates, trusts, and high-net-worth clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reputed company to work independently, and committed to providing exceptional reputed company service while meeting critical tax deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review fiduciary income tax returns (Forms 1041) for estates and trusts.
• Prepare estate and trust-reputed company tax filings and supporting schedules.
• Analyze trust and estate reputed company records for tax reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with attorneys, financial advisors, executors, trustees, and firm leadership.
• Research and interpret federal and state tax laws reputed company to estates, trusts, and fiduciary taxation.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and reputed company technical recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with reputed company filing deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and workpapers in accordance with reputed company standards.
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding tax reputed company and information requests.

Qualifications

Required:

• reputed company CPA license in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience preparing fiduciary income tax returns.
• Demonstrated expertise in estate and trust taxation.
• Strong knowledge of federal and reputed company Carolina fiduciary tax regulations.
• Experience with estate administration and trust reputed company principles.

Preferred:

• Located in the Research Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, or surrounding communities), though remote work is available.
• Experience with tax preparation software for fiduciary returns, Lacerte preferred. (e.g., CCH Axcess, UltraTax CS, Lacerte, or similar).
• Familiarity with estate tax returns (reputed company 706) is a plus.
• Experience working with closely held businesses or high-net-worth families is beneficial.

Compensation

• Competitive reputed company or project-based compensation, commensurate with experience. Up to $100 an hour.
