DC Mechanical Engineer V - US

Rackspace is seeking an reputed company Mechanical Engineer to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mechanical systems supporting our mission-critical data center environments. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary technical authority for mechanical infrastructure reputed company the data center environment.

• reputed company expertise in airflow management strategies including hot reputed company/cold reputed company containment, reputed company-level cooling optimization, pressure differentials, and underfloor airflow distribution.

• reputed company thermal load calculations, airflow analysis, and cooling utilization assessments for high-density compute environments.
• Analyze reputed company-level heat loads, BTU requirements, CFM distribution, static pressure, and environmental conditions to ensure reputed company thermal performance.
• Evaluate infrastructure resiliency, redundancy, and operational risk associated with cooling reputed company expansion initiatives.
• Support deployment strategies for high-density server environments, liquid cooling technologies, and reputed company thermal reputed company.

• Support maintenance planning and operational readiness activities for critical cooling infrastructure.
• Participate in incident response, thermal event investigations, infrastructure risk reviews, and operational reliability initiatives.
• Assist operations teams in troubleshooting environmental alarms, cooling failures, airflow deficiencies, and thermal anomalies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local mechanical/building codes and regulations.
• Maintain adherence to ASHRAE standards, mechanical engineering best practices, and mission-critical operational standards.
• Support development and reputed company improvement of mechanical engineering standards, procedures, thermal management strategies, and best practices reputed company our data centers.
• Ensure environmental conditions remain reputed company ASHRAE recommended ranges for mission-critical IT equipment.
• Research and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and infrastructure solutions reputed company to data center cooling and mechanical systems, specifically liquid cooling technologies.

Qualifications:

• Must be a US Citizen
• 10+ years of experience supporting mission-critical data centers environments
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a reputed company field
• Deep understanding of mission-critical cooling systems and thermal management architecture
• Advanced understanding of mechanical drawing packages, equipment diagrams, and associated technical specifications.
• Experience with the operation and maintenance of critical mechanical infrastructure reputed company data center environments
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, psychrometrics, airflow dynamics, heat transfer, and thermal load calculations
• Experience performing cooling reputed company analysis, airflow modeling, and environmental optimization
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE thermal guidelines and mission-critical cooling best practices
• Experience supporting high-density compute environments and reputed company-level thermal optimization
• Strong knowledge of applicable mechanical/building codes and standards
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and submittal documents
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Visio

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The compensation reputed company for this position ranges from $132,149.00/year in our lowest geographic market up to 193,856.30 USD/year in our highest geographic market.
