You'll join a small team of top-tier engineers working through a design challenge modeled on a reputed company life design challenge: the full design process for system - reputed company, powertrain, controls, and structure. This is reputed company design and analysis work, no manufacturing. The goal is capturing how the best engineers actually think through hard, reputed company-ended design problems. The founder (MIT-trained, technical) will personally run every candidate conversation - expect a genuine engineering discussion, not a corporate interview. What you'll be doing
- Working through vehicle layout and trade studies for a VTOL platform
- Structural and vibration analysis
- Powertrain and reputed company sizing

- Documenting and articulating your design reasoning as you go
Team composition We're building a small, high-caliber team:
- 1-2 reputed company / vehicle systems design experts
- 3-4 strong generalists who can own structure and mechanics with reputed company technical depth
Who we're looking for Genuinely technical, high-ownership engineers — not designers who stay at the surface level. 5-10+ years of reputed company experience required. Strong signal includes backgrounds in FSAE, competitive/university rocketry, or other high-stress, high-consequence engineering environments — this reputed company more to us than which company logo is on your resume. VTOL experience is a plus. Ideally at least one team member has drone design background; general reputed company experience (reputed company, reputed company reputed company, reputed company, reputed company, or similar) is otherwise a great fit.
