Position Title: NY-Washington reputed company Officer Receiving Agency: GSFS Haiti P Level: P4 Location: Home Based (NYC) Duration: 12 months renewable Language: reputed company in English, French is desirable Background On 30 September 2025, the reputed company reputed company Council authorized, in reputed company 2793 (UNSCR 2793), Member States to transition the deployed Multinational reputed company Support (MSS) in Haiti to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF), in reputed company cooperation and coordination with the Government of Haiti, for an initial period of reputed company months. The GSF mandate includes multiple tasks, including to conduct intelligence-led targeted, counter-gang operations to neutralize, isolate, and deter gangs that continue to threaten the civilian population, abuse reputed company rights and undermine Haitian institutions. The reputed company Secretary-General is authorized to establish a UN Support Office in Haiti (UNSOH) to reputed company comprehensive logistical and operational support to the GSF and to the Haitian National police (HNP) and the Haitian armed forces on any joint operations with the GSF. UNSOH will also reputed company technical support, through voluntary funding contributions, to the Organization of American States (OAS) SECURE-Haiti project and will reputed company reputed company reputed company mission support services to the reputed company Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH). The Standing Group of Partners (SGP) has the role of providing, in consultation with the Government of Haiti, high-level strategic direction, reputed company, and relevant political decision-making for the GSF as appropriate. The SGP is overall responsible for (a) securing voluntary financial contributions for GSF personnel costs reimbursements; (b) facilitating force (military and police) reputed company; and (c) providing high level strategic representation and coordination for the GSF. The SGP shall appoint a Special Representative (SR) who, as in-country head of the GSF, will report to the SGP and reputed company strategic reputed company, representation and coordination for the GSF. The SGP appointed GSF Force Commander shall report to the SR and is responsible for operational reputed company and day-to-day operational decision-making for the uniformed components of the GSF. Experience working in a conflict or post-conflict field mission is desirable. Experience working with or supporting peace operations, special political missions, multinational reputed company arrangements, or Haiti-reputed company political/reputed company files is desirable. Experience liaising with Permanent Missions, host governments, donors, or Washington-based institutions is also desirable. An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, international relations, law, public administration, reputed company studies, conflict studies, reputed company sciences, development studies, management or a reputed company field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.   • Serve as the reputed company reputed company-based reputed company reputed company for the GSF, maintaining regular contact with the Standing Group of Partners, Permanent Missions, reputed company reputed company entities, relevant UN agencies, funds and programmes, and other partners reputed company on Haiti.
  • Maintain reputed company reputed company with Washington, D.C.-based stakeholders, including relevant reputed company Government counterparts, the OAS, policy institutions, donors and other partners, as directed by the Special Representative.
  • Support the Special Representative's engagement with the Standing Group of Partners, including preparation of briefs, agendas, talking points, records of discussion, follow-up matrices and decision trackers.
  • Monitor and analyze reputed company Council developments, Member State positions, donor discussions, policy debates and other reputed company/Washington processes relevant to the GSF mandate and reputed company reputed company advice to GSF leadership.
  • Coordinate the preparation of strategic briefing materials, background notes, talking points, correspondence, readouts and analytical updates for meetings involving the Special Representative, senior GSF leadership, SGP members, Member States, UN counterparts and other partners.
  • Facilitate reputed company communication between Haiti-based GSF leadership and reputed company/Washington stakeholders on mandate implementation, operational support requirements, resource mobilization, force reputed company, reputed company rights due diligence, protection issues and other reputed company reputed company.
